Broom Bloom

This is one of our most popular products, so we thought it was time to sing the praises of the very versatile, bleached broom bloom!

Many people mistake broom bloom for gypsophila, otherwise known as baby's breath. This isn't surprising as they are very similar at first glance, however, broom bloom flowers tend to be concentrated to the end of the stems in clusters, and not throughout the stem-like gypsophila. There's no doubt both are very beautiful and many of our customers will interchange them for their projects. Broom is available earlier in the year than gypsophila, so when we don't have the availability of one, there's a good chance we will have the other, and as they are good alternatives to one another, this is good to bear in mind.

Below, we have our two bleached broom bloom options, dried and preserved. As you can see, there isn't much difference in colour, the contrast is in the lighter, more delicate feel of the dry versus the firmer, more robust texture of the preserved.

The dried option has slightly fluffier looking flowers than the preserved, a quality that could lend it to hand ties, wedding bouquets and flower crowns, whereas the weightier preserved broom is perhaps a better choice for displays and arrangements where lots of handling requires a more robust product.

We can tell you how good this product is but sometimes it's nicer to see it being used to get a feel for its versatility. Below we have creations by India Tyrer of DRIED, one of our wonderful customers. Broom bloom has been used in each design in a slightly different way.
