We are committed to supporting Fairtrade here at Atlas Flowers. Every year we sell around £100,000 worth of Fairtrade foliage! These sales help support a number of ongoing projects on the farms we work with. This vital work assists with:
- Building drinking water facilities
- Improving housing conditions and toilet facilities
- Medical equipment for hospitals
- Donations towards eye tests and prescription glasses
- Supplying school stationery
- Mosquito net provision
We are passionate about what we do – and we also care about where our products come from. We were the first to import Fairtrade foliage into the UK and have been working with a farm in Sri Lanka since 2006 – this is where many of our beautiful, tropical stems start their journey.
Fairtrade supports farmers and workers to improve their lives and communities. It means that they get more from their trade (rather than aid), and therefore are more empowered to control their lives.
